Biography
Matilda De Angiolini is an Italian pianist, artistic researcher and educator.
Trained in Italy, the United States and Belgium, Matilda De Angiolini performs as a soloist and chamber musician across Europe. Her work brings together concert performance, teaching and artistic research. She is currently a doctoral researcher at the “Franco Vittadini” Conservatoire in Pavia.

My research
Giving voice to the unpublished
My research brings musical philology and piano performance into dialogue, exploring how the critical study of sources, analysis and artistic practice can inform one another.
At its centre are Guido Alberto Fano’s unpublished piano manuscripts and the performer’s role in bringing them to life for the first time.
Teaching
My approach to teaching
To me, learning the piano means learning to value time: with patience, consistency and passion, what first seems out of reach can gradually become possible.
Every student follows a different path. My teaching begins with attentive listening and brings together discipline, freedom, curiosity and the joy of making music.
